Up the staircase

Good morning! It’s only Wednesday but we’re getting there. There’s so much to catch up on SL lately…it’s definitely overwhelming. New releases every day, event openings, Smugmug acquiring Flickr and what have you. Speaking of which, Strawberry blogged about it yesterday and as always, she gives a great explanation on what’s going on. So if you’re worried or confused, take a look here.

I tried to be more of a photographer than a blogger today. I often see fellow bloggers and friends, trying out angles, excessive blur and whatnot with their pictures when I’m only concerned with just showcasing the actual product that,  I don’t even pay attention to stuff like that. So there you go. Exis the photographer attempt #1! I, of course, don’t like the picture but that’s the case with 90% of the images I make so, I had to post it and see what you guys think. It features the brand new release Fancy Decor made at Bloom along with some goodies from Hive.

Comfort zones

“Great things never came from comfort zones”

Good morning world! I was off work for a couple of days so I had the chance to work on a few pictures this weekend. I feel exhausted but also happy. I had a lot of work to do and I think I’ve completed most of it. I will be participating in the Spring issue of Gallant magazine so stay tuned as it’s going to be pretty. I’m not quite sure when it’s going to be released but I’ll keep you posted. Also, I’ve seen who else is in it and they’re all wonderful!

So back to my pictures. I have mentioned before how of them get deleted eventually. It seems to be often the case. 9 out of 10 pictures I take end up in trash. I’ve been blogging for 2 years now (the anniversary was this month but not exactly sure when, ask Julie, she remembers stuff like that) and I’m still trying to find my niche. Do I like decor or fashion posts more? Which ones am I better at? Which ones do my readers prefer? I don’t think I’ll ever get the answers to these questions. And that’s alright, I don’t really want an answer. It’s enough for me that after 2 years I’m still growing and I’m still learning. Most importantly, I’m still enjoying this. I often complain about not getting enough sleep or feeling exhausted but I wouldn’t change it. I’m still addicted!

Speaking of comfort zones, I know well by now that I enjoy decor posts more than fashion. But with an avatar in them. I often stick to a certain style as it’s more convenient and easier to make. I happen to be blogging mostly for events and the way I see it, in order to cover as many new releases as possible, you have to do both. Coordinating your avatar within a decor scene is not an easy task. So many things you have to think about. What will you wear? Where will you sit. Will you sit or stand? Then, is everything still showcased clearly? They take me more time to make but once I’m done, I pat myself on the shoulder and go “good job”. Then of course, I stare at the pictures for too long, long enough, to hate and delete them in the end. But oh well. I’m confident I’ll reach to a point when everything will just get easier and faster. It has to!

Spring comfort

Good morning! It’s last day at work for me today, as we’re finally celebrating Greek Easter this weekend, and I’m feeling great. It’s a bit bizarre as everyone in SL celebrated it already so I feel a bit left behind but, at the same time, I love the idea of not working, when everyone else does. It’s like… justice!

Hello world! Missed me? This was probably the fastest weekend ever. I didn’t even realize it’s Monday all over again. I’ve managed to have some work done but there’s still a lot to do. But, the good news? Christmas is less than a month away. Exciting much? You should be, it’s a lovely holiday and I believe, a favorite for most of us.

It’s a bit crazy on SL with all the events and the sales going on at the moment so you need to be ready to spend some money. Even the toughest shoppers out there, didn’t make it and spent a little fortune. Yes, Julie, I mean you!

Some Black Friday sales are still going on (today should be the final day I suppose) and Tannenbaum opened on Saturday along with some other events, but I will be showing you one event at a time, at first. Today’s post features some goodies from it so make sure you check all credits below for all the details and information you might need. Some stuff from Uber and District 20 used in the picture as well but I will show more from them in the upcoming posts. Tannenbaum runs until the 25th of December, so you got time, but not really. You should be decorating already as we speak!

L’arret du temps

Hello world! L’arret du temps is French for “The stop of time”. It’s also a lovely cafe here in Athens I always go to when it’s the winter, as it’s Paris themed and inspired and very cozy and warm. They don’t have the same decor there for sure, but you know what? Now, they should.

But why am I talking about time all of the sudden? Because, as you can see, I’m showcasing a beautiful grandfather clock in the picture so I figured that would be the focus of it. By the way, who came up with that name? Grandfather clock? I don’t work in marketing but I don’t think that’s the best name to make good sales.

The clock is fully functional and animated. You can choose any time zone, chiming options and volumes and the door opens. I had set my local time, as soon as I rezzed it, so you can all now see what time I managed to take this picture. No, that’s not 3pm, that’s 3am!

Anyways, the clock, along with the chairs and the engravings are currently available at Fameshed, made by Fancy Decor which never disappoints, especially when it comes to clocks.

Hello world! So, here’s the situation for this week. Starting yesterday I’m working everyday from 10am until 10pm and breaks are optional. Food is too. I never eat too much anyway. So that means, every picture I’m posting this week, was taken in a crazy packed up weekend and it’s probably not the best of me you’ve seen ever, but that’s all you’re getting. It was either this or no picture at all. As soon as October ends, work will go back to normal (at least I hope so) and I’ll be able to relax a little.
