Shadow Box is the new concept brought to you by Death Row Designs. It’s a monthly subscription box, similar to the ones you’re familiar with already, like Luxe Box and Deco(c)rate. Here’s some more information about it from their website:
“It combines the mystery of getting something new and unknown once a month, with a bonus reward for purchasing a full series. Every Shadow Box contains twelve items created by Death Row Designs. Every series is 6 months, or 6 Shadow Boxes. At the end of a series the bonus reward becomes available to anyone who has received or purchased every box in the series.
The concept of Shadow Box is twelve unique products, six light or “normal” products and the other six are their dark or “abnormal” counterparts, or shadows. These items are not simple recolors. Every shadow has something unique about it ensuring you are receiving 12 unique items every month. Although every box stands on its own and can be used with or without the other months, a full series of six will reward you with not one, but two buildings at the end of the series. A light building and its dark counterpart, made specifically for that series, can be redeemed at no extra charge.”

It’s 2am and I had a long day so, I won’t ramble about my everyday happenings and go straight to the point. Decor!
For this post I worked with the new releases from two of my favorite decor stores. Thor and Newchurch. Thor participates in this round of Cosmopolitan – changes on the 22nd – with the Winchester Hideout set. Consists of furniture and props, most impressive one would have to be the knife in the polaroid picture, which is pretty cool actually. You can drag and drop any picture in there. Thanks to my friend Jayke I used his profile picture that looks like a mugshot. He he.
Newchurch participates in the On9 October round with a gacha of terrariums, successfully and playfully renamed as TERRORiums! Gacha consists of 6 commons and 1 rare, a pretty amazing animated rare one actually. You can have a better look at the gacha key here.
It’s Sunday so I’ll spare you the long rambling. A few words about this post though, are needed.
For this post, I had the help of my very good friend Jose! He’s an amazing guy, whom I’ve known for a while now and working with him was so much fun! He’s not new to SL but he’s new to blogging, so I’m going to help him as much as I can, as I really think he’s good at it. You can have a look at his under-construction stream on Flickr here.
This project was inspired from the pose created by Badwolf for this round of On9. Obviously a pose created for a bar scene, it has been a nice challenge to make, even though it took a while to finish. Hope you all like the result!
You’ve all been to Elysion sim, right? If not, I highly recommend it – you can find the landmark below in my credits.
What I love most about Elysion is how it meets all styles. You can find so many spots to pose and take a picture. Also, you can rez in it. Group join is required, and not for free, but hey, we have to keep the sim running! One funny thing about this sim, is how you run into people you’ve interracted with on Flickr or other social media. Happened to me yesterday, as I was posing there, minding my own business, I came across so many familiar faces and names. Later on I realized that I am following these people on Flickr.
When I joined SL a few months ago, Jules, who’s been on SL longer than me, actually told me “SL is so much fun, but not as sociable as you would expect it to be. You hardly ever meet people or see someone twice”. She has a point. SL is huge, so many stores, events, clubs, and sims in general, that the chances of running into someone twice, are very small.
I beg to differ now though. Photography sims and especially the Elysion, are a bloggers dream. I say, you want to meet people? Probably the ones you see and admire on social media too? Well, most likely they will hang out in picturesque sims. I know it’s happened to me twice already, so I think it’s very possible!
If you ever run into me, please say hi. If I don’t answer back right away, I’m probably struggling with styling, decorating (only recently) or windlighting. So the best case scenario (for me), you can actually give a hand. Lol.
