Good morning world! The people that read the title and know me, will probably think I’ve gone crazy. My answer to that is, I’ve always been crazy, you probably noticed just now! But let me explain what I mean.
I spent pretty much the whole day yesterday, working on scenes. Outdoorsy ones since it’s the Spring so most items require for an exterior decoration. Well, newsflash. Creating your own custom landscape/scene is hard and time consuming! I made two scenes to take pictures in and took me around 2 hours to make each one of them. I doubt this is the case for everyone, as factors like experience and taste play huge role in this but it did make me think about all the LOTD posts I see on Flickr and how cool it would be to make one. I won’t say easy. I’m not saying LOTD posts are necessarily easier to make, I’m only saying they require less time. Fewer things to worry about therefore less time spent.
I also understand that styling is the only thing you have to worry about when making a LOTD post. The more items you combine, mix and match, the better. And you always need a nice background, something consistent with the colors or the theme of your outfit. Which probably also explains why backdrops on SL are so popular.
That all being said, I still stick to my own scenes though. I can’t imagine myself blogging, by only posing and looking stylish and pretty under a crystal clear windlight. There has to be a scene complimenting the outfit or the theme of the picture. It doesn’t always work, I’ve come to terms with that fact, but practice makes perfect, people! Looking back at what my scenes looked like in the past and comparing them to my current posts, there has definitely been improvements. Which encourages me to try harder and get better on each post.
But since I was too worn out to make a scene for this particular one and since I spent money on the backdrops from The Epiphany, there you go. It definitely requires less time crediting each item on the picture, so I’m sure you will definitely appreciate the small list of credits today.
